We encourage our clients to use digital recording as it saves considerable time and cost, and recordings can be easily delivered for transcription via the Internet. If you are unfamiliar with digital recording there is more information available on our Resources page.
We transcribe dictations recorded using Express Scribe dictation recording software! We are able to transcribe most digital file formats including aif, au, aac, asf, cda, dct, dss, dvf, flac, mp3, msv, mps, mpga, ogg, ra, ram, rm, sri, vox, wav and wma. |

TAPE TRANSCRIPTION - Micro, Mini and Standard Cassettes
We can transcribe micro, mini and standard cassette tape formats but we recommend all tapes should be sent through a traceable method such as Express Post, Courier or Registered Post. On completion, tapes are returned to clients by the same method as they were received but postage or delivery costs and a small handling fee are charged to the client.
PROOFREADING
All transcribed documents are proofread by an experienced Proofreader to ensure professional and accurate documents are returned to clients. However, 100% accuracy is often not possible due to various factors including variations in audio quality, background and foreground noises, soft voices, the number of voices recorded, overtalking, accents, unfamiliar words and phrases, and technical terminology.
All our quotes include basic proofreading as standard, at the rate of one extra length of the audio being added to the actual transcription time. If you require your documents to be proofread against replaying the audio, the extra time incurred is two times the length of the audio to allow for stopping to make corrections, and replaying the audio to check words or phrases that are difficult to discern, etc.
RATES
Our rates are competitive and we will quote according to your preferred method. These rates include:

- Per Recorded Minute
- Per Typed Page
- Per 65 Character Line

Please Note:
Per Recorded Minute is the only rate that gives clients a fixed* quote prior to actual transcription. However, this is *subject to an accurate sample of the audio being supplied by the client and assessed by us prior to supplying our quote.
If we do not receive an accurate sample of the recording for assessment our quote can be considered an estimate only, and is subject to review and adjustment once we have assessed the actual audio supplied for transcription. We also reserve the right to refuse undertaking transcription of any audio that we deem to be particularly poor quality.
